Users’ Group 2013

Spring marks one of our favorite times of the year, not only because it’s the beginning of a new year, but because it’s our PhotoLynx Users’ Group!  This year our Users’ Group was held at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Attendees    Meeting

The Users’ Group started out on Thursday with a FLOW workshop lead by one of our technicians, Joey.  It was a basic informational workshop on how our newest capture software works.  The afternoon was when our Users’ Group officially started and the guest speakers started.  We had a wonderful line up of guest speakers that proved to us once again there is always something new to learn.  We ended our first day with a retirement party for one of our legacy software’s, CamLynx.  Also, we revealed that we are retiring our current School Image Software only to be replaced and revamped by an even better version of School Image Software.  Look for the release closer to the fall season!

The second day of our Users’ Group started out with a bang with one of our very own, Tawnya, giving tips and tricks for our products.   She also gave our release schedule of all the up and coming new features to be done to our PhotoLynx Legacy Software and FLOW.  (Please contact us to receive a copy if you did not receive one at the Users’ Group)  After Tawnya, we had another variety of amazing guest speakers that gave us more insight and knowledge to add onto the day before.  After our morning speakers, we broke for lunch and began one of our favorite events, the Trigger Ideas.  The Trigger Ideas are designed to get brains going on new and exciting ideas that you as a school photographer can start implementing and offering to your clients.  We had quite a few great ideas that will hopefully draw in some new business for our photographers!  One thing we found very exciting this year at the Trigger Ideas was whistles and squawkers.  Not only did it get the energy going but it helped us to determine which ideas were the winners!  The second day of the User Group was finished with an amazing speaker from  Kodak, Ed Monahan.  (We also have copies of his PowerPoint if you wanted to receive a copy) We wrapped up our User Group with a hospitality suite to celebrate the retirement of CamLynx and to meet and greet with our clients.

Friday night was the start of the SPAC trade show and our booth looked great!  We had a beautiful new banner that helped show everyone exactly where to come and find us.  We had a new laptop that helped us to showcase how great FLOW runs on Windows 8.  We also announced our Lynx Legacy award recipient, Gary Kranz.  Gary has been a great contributor to the school photography industry for over 30 years.

Saturday was day two of the trade show and we again got to meet and greet with our existing clients and also meet some amazing new ones! This year we had a great new addition to our trade show booth, a 42” TV that was a wonderful for showcasing FLOW on a larger scale.  The last day of SPAC and the tradeshow wrapped up with a hospitality suite put on by one of our alliance companies, ImageQuix.
